A care uniform has a harder job than most workwear. It has to identify who someone is at a glance, to a resident who may not remember faces, to a family visiting for the first time, and to an inspector walking the floor. It has to look clean and consistent across a rota of people on different shifts. And it has to come out of a commercial wash at 60°C, several times a week, still looking like a uniform rather than something that has been through a hedge.

That last point decides almost everything about how we brand healthcare kit. We supply the garments and decorate them ourselves in our Birmingham workshop, so when we tell you a decoration will survive your wash cycle, it is because we are the ones putting it on.

What care teams order most

Colour coding by role

Most homes and clinics we work with run some form of colour coding, and the ones that do it well decide the scheme before they order rather than after. A workable pattern looks like this:

We will hold your scheme on file, so a new starter in any role is a reorder rather than a fresh decision. If you have not settled on one yet, tell us the roles and we will suggest a scheme that still works when you add a fifth one in a year.

Branding that survives a 60°C wash

Embroidery is the default for healthcare, and the reason is the laundry. It is stitched thread, not a film sitting on the fabric, so hot washing and industrial drying do not lift it. A printed logo on a tunic washed at 60°C several times a week will not last the life of the garment. An embroidered one will.

Where print does earn its place is on polos for non-clinical teams, on event or fundraising shirts, and on any detailed multi-colour logo that embroidery cannot hold cleanly at chest size. DTF starts at £1.75 a print with no setup fee.

Ordering for a home or a practice

1. Send your logo and the roles you need covered. Rough headcount per role is enough to start.
2. We send a mockup and a price per person for each role, free, with nothing to sign.
3. You approve artwork and the colour scheme. Thread colours matched to your brand, confirmed in writing.
4. We produce it here. Typically 5 to 7 working days from approval, 7 to 10 with delivery.
5. Reorders take minutes. Your scheme, artwork and thread colours stay on file for the next intake.

Homes ordering regularly are usually better off on a trade account, which gets better pricing and a named contact who already knows your colour scheme.

Frequently asked questions

Will the embroidery survive our laundry?

Yes. Embroidery is stitched thread, so 60°C washing and industrial drying are not a problem. It is the reason nearly all care uniform branding is embroidered rather than printed.

Can you put staff names on the tunics?

Yes, per garment, alongside the home or practice logo. First name only is the most common request, sometimes with the role underneath.

Do you have a minimum order?

No. One tunic for a new starter is a normal order here. Unit price improves with quantity, but nothing stops you ordering a single garment.

Can you match the colours we already use?

Usually. Send a garment or a photo and we will find the closest current equivalent and match thread colours to your brand. Bring the old one in if you are local, it is faster than describing it.

How long does it take?

Typically 5 to 7 working days in production from artwork approval, plus delivery. Tell us if an intake date is tighter than that and we will give you a straight answer.

Can different roles have different colours on the same order?

Yes, and most homes do exactly that. One order, one invoice, split by role and size.

What if a member of staff leaves?

If the garment carries only the logo, it goes back into stock. It is one reason many homes name only senior staff and leave the rest logo-only.
