Wash Care Guide
Looking after your branded workwear
Decorated workwear lasts a lot longer when it's washed properly. A few simple habits keep your printing and embroidery looking sharp wash after wash.
General rules
- Turn garments inside out before washing to protect the decoration
- Wash at 30°C where you can — cooler washes are kinder to print and thread
- Use a mild detergent and avoid bleach or harsh stain removers
- Wash similar colours together
- Fasten zips and avoid overloading the machine
Drying
- Air dry where possible
- If you tumble dry, use a low heat — high heat can crack print and shrink some fabrics
- Avoid long spells in strong direct sunlight, which can fade colours
Ironing
- Iron inside out
- Never iron directly over a printed logo or embroidery
- Use a low to medium heat, and place a cloth over the area if you need to press nearby
A note on print types
Different decoration methods wear slightly differently. Embroidery is the most hard-wearing and handles commercial laundering well, which is why it's popular for uniforms washed often. Printed designs last well too when washed cool and dried gently.
